Joel and I aren’t swimming in money right now but we wanted to do something fun and spontaneous for our anniversary this year. Joel had never been to the Mall of America and I hadn’t been since I was 12 years old. We checked the flights and they were wide open so we decided to take a day trip up there. We left on the first flight Saturday morning. It was so strange to travel without a suitcase. Of course we didn’t need any luggage since we were only going to be gone for several hours. We just brought a backpack with toothbrushes and a change of underwear just in case we got stranded. Even though the flights were wide open and there was no bad weather in sight you never know with air travel.

The flight up was a breeze. Got an entire row to ourselves. Joel and I chatted over the SkyMall catalog. They have the coolest crap in those.

The first thing we did once we got to MOA was check out the roller coasters. I hadn’t been to MOA in 12 years and they certainly have added a lot since then. I mean, duh, but still I barely recognized it.

One of my favorite things about carnivals?

Cotton candy! Om nom nom

Speaking of delicious food, we also found some chocolate covered potato chips. These sound weird but they are so delicious! The only time I’d ever had them was 12 years ago when I went Minnesota to visit my grandma and I’ve been craving them ever since.

I almost forgot to take a picture, I was too busy eating them.

There was just so much silliness as you can probably tell by the pictures.

It was such a perfect way for us to celebrate being married for four years. This is who we are. We’re best friends and we love each other so much.

Can’t you tell?
