I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately, being jobless will do that to you. Anyway, today I started taking steps to get myself out of the funk. I joined a book club and we had our first meeting this evening. It seems like a really neat bunch of girls. It’s really hard to meet 20something women and I’m really excited to see how this is going to pan out. The first book we’re reading is A Reliable Wife. It seems like it could be an interesting book, kind of a murder mystery. I’ll let you know how I like it. I’m not really worried about what book we’re reading at this point though. As much as I love Joel, I need some girl friends.

Hope your book club goes well. It’s so strange how hard it is to meet new girl friends once you’re out of high school and college dorms. I struggled with that a lot in my early-mid twenties.

Yeah, it’s strange for me. I’ve never had any problems making friends. Now all my friends are spread out all over the world and I don’t really know anyone in the area. This group seems really nice so hopefully that will be fixed shortly. 🙂

And it seems that the older we get the harder it is to find friends. You can’t just come up to somebody in the playground and be all “wanna be best friends? Awesome!” Good luck with the book club.

Wouldn’t it be so nice if it was still like that? I definitely remember being on the playground and asking “Wanna be friends?” Then we just were. Simpler times.
